West Ham United are reportedly interested in targeting Marco Silva at the end of the season after David Moyes’ mixed tenure.
West Ham may be in an incredibly precarious position in the Premier League right now, but according to Spanish outlet Marca, they are already making some major summer plans regarding their management situation.
David Moyes’ tenure has been a mixed one. There have been some extremely positive results along the way, but the Irons certainly find themselves in danger heading into the final eight games of the campaign.
West Ham are one place and two points above the bottom three and face an absolutely crucial game in their season at the weekend, with Southampton travelling to the London Stadium. It could have major implications for the Hammers’ season and Moyes’ future – with the Guardian reporting when he was appointed that his initial contract runs until the summer – but perhaps the West Ham hierarchy have already made a decision on the Scotsman’s future.
Could West Ham tempt Silva?
Despite being dismissed by Watford earlier this season and being relegated with the Tigers last year, Silva’s stock is high and getting him through the door at the London Stadium would be a coup for the Hammers.
However, you would imagine that staying up in the top flight is a must for West Ham if they are going to be able to tempt the Portuguese. And after a turbulent time for the club before the international break, Silva would surely need assurances from the Hammers hierarchy that they have the ambition to ensure that this season is nothing more than a blip.
