According to RMC Sport, West Ham want to sign Olympique Lyon forward Moussa Dembélé as a replacement for Sebastien Haller.

The former Eintracht Frankfurt man’s move to Ajax was confirmed earlier today, and it appears that the Hammers are now searching for a replacement.

On their list, according to RMC Sport, is Dembélé, a man who Olympique Lyon signed from Celtic for £19.7 million in 2018.

The former Fulham striker is struggling in France this season.

He finds himself behind Tino Kadewere and Karl Toko Ekambi in the pecking order under Rudi Garcia.

Furthermore, the 24-year-old has scored just one goal in 16 Ligue 1 appearances this season.

However, there’s no denying that Dembélé is a talented player who is merely suffering a dip in form.

The Pontoise-born marksman netted an eye-catching 51 goals in 94 games for Celtic, where his talents caught the eye of a certain Lionel Messi.

According to Spanish outlet Diario Gol (via the Daily Record), the six-time Ballon d’Or winner asked Barcelona to sign Dembélé in 2017.

Arguably the greatest player of all time, if Messi wants to play in attack alongside you, then it must mean you’re a pretty good forward.

By all accounts, this would be a fantastic signing for the Hammers.
