What’s the story?
Well, the £11,000-a-week man is looking to leave Shakhtar Donetsk due to the conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
However, the Premier League are blocking FIFA and UEFA’s approved window for foreign players to escape clubs in Ukraine or Russia mid-season.
Therefore, Tete is set to arrive at St Mary’s in the summer.
The 22-year-old is also wanted by Brighton, Brentford, Leicester, Porto, Napoli, AC Milan, Atalanta, Benfica and Ajax.
Clearly, Southampton have done well to sign Tete, as there are some European giants sniffing around the situation.
So far this season, the Brazilian has scored ten goals in 28 appearances, while also providing two assists.
West Ham & Everton must be jealous of Southampton

In our view, the Saints deserve a pat on the back if they really have wrapped this deal up, as it would be tremendous business.
Tete is a very exciting attacker, and at the age of just 22, the sky is the limit for the talented South American.
90min do not disclose if a transfer fee is involved, so it’s possible that Southampton have signed the winger for free, which would make the deal even more impressive.

Clearly, West Ham and Everton were too slow.
For Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side to fend off the likes of AC Milan also speaks volumes, so whatever they said to Tete, it clearly impressed him.
Keep an eye on this saga, as official confirmation could soon come from Southampton.
