According to The Sun, West Ham United are reluctant to pay £25 million for Blackburn Rovers striker Adam Armstrong.
It has been reported that West Ham are interested in signing Armstrong from Blackburn in the Championship in the summer of 2021.
Brighton and Hove Albion are also reported to be keen on securing the services of the 24-year-old striker, who was described as “really special” by his Blackburn manager Tony Mowbray in The Lancashire Telegraph last month, as covered by HITC Sport.
The report in the British tabloid has added that Blackburn want £25 million for the striker, and that although the Hammers are keen on him, they are reluctant to pay that much for him.
Sensible stance?
Armstrong has been superb for Blackburn this season. The 24-year-old striker has scored 19 goals and provided three assists in 32 Championship games for Rovers, according to WhoScored.
However, the Championship is a very different league from the Premier League, and Armstrong could not make a massive impact in the top flight of English football when he was at Newcastle.
One can understand why the Hammers are reluctant to pay £25 million for the 24-year-old.
