According to Calciomercato, West Ham have made several enquires to Juventus over the availability of Luca Pellegrini.
What’s the story?
Well, the 22-year-old is currently out of favour under Massimiliano Allegri, and has played just 58 minutes in Serie A this season.
As a result, West Ham are constantly asking Juventus what their plans are for the 1-cap Italy international – they seem desperate to sign him.
Calciomercato believe Pellegrini is free to leave Turin, albeit only on loan.
Allegri hasn’t given the defender a proper chance yet, so Juventus don’t want to sanction a permanent sale just yet, in case he thrives on loan.
Sampdoria are also interested in Pellegrini, who is described as being held ‘hostage’ to the bench by Calciomercato.
Hopefully, the Hammers can rescue him from the sidelines.
Why do West Ham want Luca Pellegrini?

It’s particularly interesting to us that West Ham want another left-back.
Why? Well, David Moyes already has Aaron Cresswell and Arthur Masuaku to choose from in that position, while Ben Johnson can also play there.
In that case, why is Pellegrini being targeted? Does Moyes not believe in his current options?
There are plenty of question marks surrounding West Ham’s interest.

Cresswell is now 31, so it’s possible Moyes is searching for a long-term alternative to his first-choice.
That’s the only explanation we can think of, as West Ham are quite well stocked in the left-back department.
Keep an eye on this saga, as the Irons certainly seem insistent on signing Pellegrini.
