West Ham United reportedly want £18m for Manchester United target Reece Oxford.

According to the Daily Mail, West Ham United have slapped an £18m asking price on the head of teenage starlet Reece Oxford.
Oxford, 17, was released from the Tottenham academy back in 2011, and has since come up through the ranks with West Ham, becoming one of English football’s brightest young prospects.
Originally a centre back, Oxford has been switched into defensive midfield, and hit the headlines with a superb performance on his Premier League debut against Arsenal last season.
In West Ham’s first game of the campaign, Oxford dominated the game at the Emirates Stadium, enhancing his reputation as a star of the future.
However, the Daily Mail report that West Ham have made no progress on a new contract for Oxford, and now risk losing him as two of English football’s biggest clubs circle.
The report claims that Manchester City and Manchester United are both keen to snap up Oxford this summer, whilst newly-promoted Bundesliga side RB Leipzig have already seen a £10m bid rejected for the teenager.
Now, it’s believed that West Ham have set their asking price for Oxford – and it’s a huge £18m, which could deter clubs from moving for the teenager this summer.
That asking price is allegedly making Oxford believe his wages should be in line with such a huge fee, with Manuel Lanzini’s believed to be earning three times as much as what Oxford has been offered – and the problems between club and player will encourage Manchester City and Manchester United, even with the huge asking price.
