West Ham United are still keeping tabs on long-term target Abdoulaye Toure, with BuzzSport reporting that Nantes are open to the idea of selling their influential captain this summer.
While the Hammers can all-but seal their Premier League survival with a victory against fellow strugglers Watford tonight, there is still a long, hard summer on the horizon for David Moyes and co.
After another year of underachievement, the Londoners are under pressure to find a solution to numerous problem positions that exist throughout a talented but unbalanced squad.
A new right-back is an absolute must, with Pablo Zabaleta following Jeremy Ngakia out the door.
But an energetic, forceful central midfielder would be very well received too – regardless of whether Declan Rice stays or goes.
After all, Mark Noble is not getting any younger while you would be forgiven for forgetting that Carlos Sanchez and Jack Wilshere were still on the payroll.
Fortunately, as BuzzSport points out, Nantes will not stop in Toure’s way if the skipper wants to leave, with West Ham still mulling over a move for a £12.5 million player who they expressed an interest in signing back in January (France Football).

Speaking to Ouest France recently, the 6ft 2ins powerhouse admitted that it might be time to leave his hometown club after spending his entire professional career at Nantes.
“If an interesting opportunity for myself and the two clubs presents itself, then we will think about it,” he said.
