West Ham United are assessing loan offers ‘from home and abroad’ for the goalkeeper Nathan Trott, who has had interest from Coventry City and Derby County this summer, according to The Daily Mail.
The newspaper claims West Ham have already decided against a move to Coventry, who had wanted Trott as number two initially.
The Sky Blues’ Championship rivals Derby are among the other clubs said to have been keen on the 21-year-old, along with Doncaster Rovers and Shrewsbury Town.
Trott impressed while on loan to AFC Wimbledon last season, appearing against Coventry, Doncaster and Shrewsbury in League One.
And West Ham want Trott – whom they view as a future first choice at the London Stadium – to continue his momentum as another club’s number one this coming campaign, according to The Daily Mail.
Whether Derby are still pursuing Trott remains to be seen.
But with the Rams having already signed the experienced David Marshall from Wigan this summer, they could find themselves in the same boat as Coventry if they are.
Trott is said to have arrived at West Ham on Clyde Best’s recommendation four-and-a-half years ago, having previously been on Valencia’s books.
The England Under-21 call-up has two years left on his contract at the London Stadium.
