West Ham United are considering making a bid for Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge, that could ultimately cost them £30 million.
David Moyes is having to deal with something of a crisis regarding his strikers at the London Stadium. The Sun reports that Andy Carroll is set to be out for around three months, while Diafra Sakho has also struggled with injury throughout the campaign and Marko Arnautovic is now sidelined.
The Sun suggests that that has tempted Moyes into the market for a new striker, and a bid for Sturridge may be in the offing, but it appears that the 28-year-old will not come cheap.
The Sun adds that West Ham could be prepared to meet those demands if they are given concrete assurances over Sturridge’s fitness and are convinced that there are no ongoing issues.
It would certainly be a gamble for the Hammers to meet Liverpool’s reported demands. But if Sturridge does manage to stay fit, he undoubtedly has the quality to make the move seem like a masterstroke from a West Ham perspective, and it seems highly unlikely that the Irons will find themselves anywhere near the bottom three come the end of the campaign.
