According to Foot Mercato, West Ham are confident of beating Liverpool to the signing of Sparta Prague forward Adam Hložek.
The French news outlet states that West Ham’s confidence comes from the successful signings of Tomáš Souček and Vladimír Coufal.
Significantly, the Czech Republic duo were also signed from the Fortuna Liga, although they arrived from Slavia Prague.
Foot Mercato include a report from Deník, a Czech Republican news outlet which claims that Liverpool are also eyeing the 18-year-old.
Whoever wins the race for Hložek will be getting a fine prospect.
In 20 appearances this season, the teenager has almost averaged a goal involvement per game.
Hložek has scored ten goals, while also recording nine assists.

Such is his promise, he was featured in the Guardian‘s Next Generation article.
When writing a bit about Hložek, the Guardian described him as ‘quick’ and ‘very skilful’ – they added that Bayern Munich and Manchester City have previously shown interest in him.
So, aside from being quick and skilful, what type of player is he?

Well, in terms of a comparison, Football Talent Hub wrote that he plays a bit like Roberto Firmino.
Seeing as the Brazilian has amassed 208 Premier League appearances, West Ham fans should know all about his style of play.
If West Ham do manage to add Hložek to the likes of Souček, Coufal, Declan Rice and Michail Antonio, their squad will look extremely impressive.
