According to Foot Mercato, West Ham are closing in on a loan move for PSG goalkeeper Alphonse Areola.
The France international will reportedly join Hammers’ on a year-long loan deal that will have an option to buy included in it.
West Ham are rather lucky to have the chance to land Areola this summer.

Indeed, Areola would likely have been a Fulham player by now if they had stayed in the Premier League, with the Cottagers holding an option to buy the goalkeeper at the end of his loan deal last season, but after their relegation, signing a player such as Areola would have made very little sense.
The stopper already knows London and the Premier League after his spell with Fulham, and it’s fair to say he thrived in this environment.
Scott Parker described Areola as ‘exceptional’ last season, while he also won Fulham’s Player of the Year award for his goalkeeping exploits.
The Hammers certainly need a new goalie, after all, Lukasz Fabianski isn’t getting any younger, and it seems as though Areola could be a fantastic solution to David Moyes’ problem between the sticks.
Fingers crossed the London outfit can get this one over the line.
