West Ham are closing in on the signing of CSKA Moscow star Nikola Vlasic for a reported fee of €30m (£25m).
According to the Guardian, the Hammers are eager to strengthen their squad ahead of their UEFA Europa League group stage campaign.
As per the report, David Moyes ‘has driven the pursuit’ to sign Vlasic for West Ham. The midfielder is viewed as a better value for money signing than Jesse Lingard.
The east London side have been chasing the Manchester United star for most of the summer following his incredible loan spell with the club last season.
However, a deal has proven hard to conclude between West Ham and the Premier League giants.
Indeed, Everton are now in the race to sign Lingard, and West Ham appear to have drawn a line in the sand over the England international by signing Vlasic.

The Croatian international spent two years with the Toffees but failed to make much of an impact on Merseyside. However, since moving to Russia with CSKA, Vlasic has developed into an outstanding playmaker for the Moscow giants.
At 23, Vlasic is still very young in his career as a player. And West Ham now look set to add the midfielder who is finally growing into his own to their ranks for the season.
