West Ham United have made an enquiry for Lille captain and Crystal Palace target Ibrahim Amadou.
Amadou has been one of Lille’s more impressive players this season, making 21 appearances in Ligue 1. However, his side are just one point clear of the bottom three – and they may now have to do without their current skipper during their relegation fight.
Sky Sports reports on their live transfer feed (30th January 2018; 17:23) that West Ham have been in contact with the French club about a potential move for Amadou, who arrived at his current club from Nancy in 2015.
David Moyes is not the first Premier League boss to express an interest in the 24-year-old this month however, with Sky Sports adding that Crystal Palace have made two bids for Amadou during this window.
Sky Sports suggests that Lille want £17.6 million for the utility man – a figure Palace are yet to offer – but it remains to be seen whether West Ham’s enquiry will result in the Hammers making the kind of bid that may tempt the club into a deal before tomorrow’s deadline.
West Ham and Crystal Palace look set to battle over Amadou in the final hours of the window, and they will also battle on the pitch at the London Stadium on Tuesday night. A win could see either side leap into the top half of the table.
