West Ham United have rather bizarrely put in a transfer clause which means that they will pay £8 million to Brentford when they sell Said Benrahma, TeamTalk report.

West Ham are pushing to complete a deal for Benrahma before the domestic transfer deadline, with the transfer now expected to go through shortly.

The deal West Ham have agreed with Brentford is a rather strange one, though.

West Ham will have to pay the Bees £8 million for Benrahma when they sell him, regardless of what price they receive for the winger.

The move looks a risky one, as if the transfer doesn’t work out, then it is going to be a costly venture.

There are hopes around the London Stadium that Benrahma will be a roaring success, though.

The Algerian has been one of the most dangerous players in the Championship, and seems ready to make the step up to the Premier League.

With the likes of Paulo Di Canio and Dimitri Payet thriving at West Ham, there are hopes that the stylish Benrahma can have a similar impact.

And, even though West Ham’s decision to include an £8 million clause in the deal looks a gamble, it could turn out to be a wise decision in time.

  2. Felipe Anderson
