West Ham are reportedly looking to bring Barcelona’s Munir to the London Stadium.
West Ham United have seemingly suffered a blow in their reported pursuit of Barcelona attacker Munir this month, after another report stated that German club Schalke were winning the race.
Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo claimed last week that West Ham were interested in bringing the 23-year-old to east London, with Munir’s contract set to expire in the summer.
If Barcelona want to bring in a fee for the one-time Spain international, then they must cash in this month with a new contract for Munir seemingly off the table. But the Hammers have suffered a blow in their pursuit.
That is because TransferMarketWeb have claimed that German Bundesliga outfit Schalke are in pole position to sign the former Alaves and Valencia loanee – while Celta Vigo and Marseille are also interested.
Schalke are struggling in the Bundesliga this season, currently sitting way down in 13th place but they are said to be winning the race to land Munir – who has made 11 appearances for Barca this season, scoring twice.
If the Hammers want to sign Munir and are serious about landing his signature, then they have to move quickly to beat Schalke. But it appears that the German side are in pole position.
