West Ham want to have the highest capacity in London.

West Ham are battling to increase the capacity of the London Stadium by 9,000 seats, The Mail report.

This would take the 57,000 seater ground to 66,000, making it the biggest Premier League ground in the capital next season.

This would be more than Tottenham’s new stadium which is currently being built and will have a capacity of 61,000, narrowly more than Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium.

West Ham’s London Stadium was originally built to seat 66,000, but when it was converted from an athletics stadium to a football ground, only 57,000 were made available.

It is not straightforward for West Ham to get their way, with The Mail reporting the London Legacy Development Corporation are disputing the cost of re-development, and who would receive the revenue from the new seats, with the club believing they should take all profits.

The cost of re-configuring the seating is estimated to run into millions of pounds.
