West Ham United are renewing their interest in Lukas Masopust with Newcastle and Wolverhampton Wanderers also an option for the £6 million winger, as reported by 90Min.
After watching former Slavia Prague teammates Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal blossom into bona fide Premier League stars at the London Stadium, you can see why Masopust would be keen to join them.
The Czech Republic international is 28 now and knows, deep down, that he doesn’t exactly have time in his side.
It feels like a case of now or never if Masopust wants to prove himself in the most high-profile league in European football.
According to 90Min, Newcastle, Wolves, Leicester City, Watford, Brighton and Crystal Palace have all been ‘offered’ the chance to sign the silky winger.
You don’t need to be Sherlock Holmes to realise that Masopust’s representatives are pushing for a move, making sure to tell as many clubs as possible that the three-time Czech League champion would welcome the chance to join a club – any club – in England’s top flight.

But while it seems that Masopust’s camp have approached Newcastle, Wolves and co – rather than the other way around – West Ham’s interest in the former Jablonec star does appear to be genuine.
It is believed that Masopust, who lifted silverware alongside Soucek and Coufal in Prague, would be available for as little as £6 million with just two years left on his contract.
Interestingly, Masopust’s agent said 12 months ago that David Moyes himself had expressed an interest in the Slavia star, as well as a certain Patrik Schick.
“Moyes asked me about Patrik Schick, Lukas Masopust, but also about some other players. He wanted to know what Patrik looked like at the moment, he was also interested in Lukas,” explained the influential Pavel Paska.
“I said that it would be good for him (Masopust) and me (to go to West Ham). I’m glad I opened the door. Lukas Masopust would deserve a transfer and I would very much like it. He’s a great football player and a great boy.”
