West Ham United reportedly wanted the winger before he chose a move to Liverpool.

According to a report from Swiss media outlet Blick, Liverpool new-boy Xherdan Shaqiri rejected a move to West Ham before completing his switch to Anfield last month.
The mercurial 26-year-old joined the Reds from Stoke City in July, for a bargain fee of just £13 million, and many are tipping him to go on and become a real hit on Merseyside.
Liverpool were not the only club who were interested in signing the 74-capped Switzerland international, however.
Swiss publication Blick claims that Manuel Pellegrini was desperate to bring Shaqiri to West Ham, but he could not convince the 26-year-old into opting for a move to east London over Liverpool.
And that will come as no surprise.

Liverpool are one of the most exciting teams in the Premier League, if not the whole of Europe, and they have every chance of winning the title this season.
Whilst the Swiss star might not be a regular starter for Jürgen Klopp’s side, he will undoubtedly have a big part to play in their hopes of achieving success this season.
