Denis Vavro appears to be leaving Copenhagen for Serie A and West Ham United might have left it too late to bring him to the Premier League.

West Ham United have reportedly made a late attempt to beat Lazio to the signing of Copenhagen defender Denis Vavro, but Il Messaggero points out that the Premier League outfit have probably left it a little too late.
The Slovakia international is a man in demand after helping Copenhagen win the Danish league title last season and reports in Italy suggest that Lazio are confident of winning the race for his signature with a deal set to be announced in the coming days.
The capital club are expected to pay a fee which should reach around £9.5 million.
If only West Ham had made their move a bit sooner. According to Il Messaggero, The Hammers threw their hat into the ring a few days ago to cause a ‘moment of tension’ for Lazio.
But it seems that Manuel Pellegrini’s side have been unable to successfully derail the deal, with the 23-year-old still heading to the Stadio Olimpico.

And you’ve got to wonder why West Ham didn’t act sooner if they wanted to bring Vavro to the London Stadium.
It has been common knowledge for a while now that Lazio were interested and it seems that West Ham have paid the price for not firming up their interest until talks with the Italian outfit were far too advanced.
