CalcioMercato claim that Wolves and West Ham are set to do battle for Sevilla attacker Lucas Ocampos this summer. The Argentina ace could be open to a move to England – but Sevilla are likely to request a big fee.

That is because Ocampos, 27, is still under contract at Sevilla until the summer of 2024. The 10-time Argentina international has a release clause in that deal – worth a whopping £58million, according to website Goal.

Since joining Sevilla from Marseille in the summer of 2019, Ocampos has gone on to play a huge 125 games in less than three years. In that time, he has scored 33 goals, creating 13 more from a range of different positions.

Up front, as a 10, or on either flank, Ocampos has proven to be crucial for Julen Lopetegui’s side – even helping them win a Europa League title. Now, CM report that Wolves and West Ham want to lure him to English football.

West Ham, Wolves eye Ocampos: Who is favourite to sign Sevilla ace?

Ocampos has faced both Wolves and West Ham in recent seasons, in the Europa League. The difference between the two ties, is that West Ham knocked Sevilla out and look good to be in next season’s competition.

Wolves are also in with a shout of qualification, though the Conference League might be more likely. Both sides have the cash, but if Sevilla want a fee of £58million – then the English duo are likely to look elsewhere.

Who is favourite? Arguably West Ham, given location and that they might be in the competition Ocampos once won. Wolves are worthy competitors, though.
