According to De Telegraaf, West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers are both keen on signing Ajax attacker Lassina Traore.

It’s claimed that the Premier League duo are fighting it out for Traore’s signature, and a deal could end up materialising this month.

Ajax aren’t keen to sell given that he is one of their few natural strikers – though that situation could soon change…

Haller to Ajax – boost for West Ham?

L’Equipe report that Ajax are on the verge of signing West Ham striker Sebastien Haller in a deal worth around €25million (£22.5million).

Haller’s move to Ajax – which will see him reunite with his former Utrecht boss Erik ten Hag – now means that Ajax will have a new centre forward.

With Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Brian Brobbey also available, maybe Ajax will be more willing to lose Traore – and who knows, maybe West Ham can sign him as part of the Haller deal.

Who is Lassina Traore?

Traore, 19, joined Ajax from sister side Ajax Cape Town in 2019, having previously been with Rahimo in his native Burkina Faso.

Traore has been a sensation this season, smashing eight goals and eight assists in 16 first-team games for Ajax, sparking the interest in his signature.

The Burkina Faso starlet is strong and can run in behind defences, meaning he is possibly more what West Ham are looking for than Haller – and with Wolves seeking cover for Raul Jimenez, a talented teenager like Traore could fit the bill.
