West Bromwich Albion and West Ham United could go head-to-head for Wigan Athletic defender Antonee Robinson when the season comes to an end, according to The Sun (14 June, page 59).

While the USA international might have missed out on a dream move to AC Milan during the January transfer window, with a failed medical seeing his San Siro switch go up in smoke, interest from the Premier League is at least some consolation.

West Brom have had a few problems at left-back this season with Kieron Gibbs spending much of the campaign stuck on the sidelines.

And the Sun report that the Baggies, who are on the verge of sealing promotion, have identified Robinson as a top summer target.

West Ham are interested too. And a 22-year-old who has shone in the second tier after being released by Everton ticks plenty of boxes for Hammers boss David Moyes.

After snaping up Hull City talisman Jarrod Bowen in January, West Ham have made promising, homegrown, Championship-based talents central to their recruitment policy with the likes of Said Benrahma and Ollie Watkins linked with moves to the London Stadium.

But with both Aaron Cresswell and Arthur Masuaku already competing for a place at left-back, Robinson’s potential arrival could see one of West Ham’s existing options head for the exit.

According to The Mail, Robinson is valued at £10 million.
