David Moyes’s West Ham United are competing with Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United for Marseille forward Bamba Dieng, according to MediaFootMarseille.

The French news outlet has claimed that West Ham and Newcastle are among the clubs interested in signing Dieng from Marseille in the summer transfer window.
The Hammers are still looking for a forward despite signing Gianluca Scamacca from Sassuolo, while the Magpies have identified the 22-year-old as a player who could be a success in the future as well.
French club Strasbourg are interested in Dieng, according to MediaFootMarseille, who have added that Marseille expect at least €12 million (£10 million) in transfer fees.

Bamba Dieng has been on the books of Marseille since 2020 and has progressed well at the French club.
The 22-year-old made 11 starts and 14 substitute appearances in Ligue 1 for Marseille last season.
Dieng scored seven goals and gave one assist in those games.
The youngster also made three starts and two substitute appearances in the Europa League for Marseille last season.
Dieng is still developing and progressing as a footballer, and for £10 million, he would be a good signing for West Ham or Newcastle, especially as he can play as a centre-forward, wide-forward or as a traditional winger.
