West Ham United and Newcastle United reportedly want to sign Mbaye Diagne after his superb season in Turkey.

Diagne has scored 20 goals in 17 top flight games for Kasimpasa. His closest rival in the division, Hugo Rodallega, has scored nine times in the league this term.
Unsurprisingly, he is attracting a huge amount of attention with the January window just getting underway. Tuttomercatoweb reports that four Premier League sides are keen, with the Hammers and Magpies being joined by Wolves and Fulham in the battle for his signature.
But the report actually names 11 clubs that are monitoring Diagne’s form, including sides from France, Spain and China. It is added that it will cost at least £9 million to land the 27-year-old.

If Diagne is capable of replicating anything like his current form in the Premier League, he would unquestionably be an inspired signing for the likes of West Ham or Newcastle – especially when you consider his potential asking price.
Of course, it is a lot easier said than done to continue that form after a move, and his price may well increase as a bidding war could quite easily break out given the amount of interest.
But for Newcastle, in particular, it could be a huge deal. Rafa Benitez’s men are amongst the lowest scorers in the top flight this term, and it appears that they could quite easily find themselves involved in a relegation scrap.
