According to 90Min, the likes of West Ham and Newcastle sent scouts to watch Mykhaylo Mudryk against Scotland this week.

The Ukrainian attacker has been making waves in the Champions League this season, and apparently almost half of the Premier League were looking at him in midweek.

Arsenal, Chelsea, Leeds and Everton all had scouts present at Ukraine’s recent clash with Scotland, while Newcastle and West Ham are also interested parties.

While the Hammers and the Magpies may be keen, Arsenal are the club that seem to be leading this race.

Indeed, the Gunners were strongly linked in the summer, and just a fortnight ago the attacker admitted that he’d be open to a move to Arsenal, saying:

“I think every player dreams about the Premier League. It’s hard to say [which team he’d like to join] but Arsenal is a very good team, very good coach, I like the way they play.”

When asked if he would make a move to the Emirates he said: “From my side, I can’t say no [to Arsenal]. But the transfer is not only my decision.”

Of course, Mudryk saying that he’d be open to joining Arsenal isn’t to say that a transfer is imminent, and we can’t write of West Ham or Newcastle’s chances.

Newcastle are, of course, the richest club in the world and they need a new right-winger, while West Ham did beat Arsenal to the signing of Lucas Paqueta this summer, so you’d have to be daft to write off David Moyes’ chances of winning this race.

Mudryk is certainly a player to keep an eye on in the coming months, and while he won’t be headed to the World Cup in Qatar, he may be on of the most sought-after players in the post-World Cup January transfer window.
