Could the new Kylian Mbappe be moving to the Premier League with Manchester City or West Ham United.
Manchester City and West Ham United are eyeing Romania’s answer to Kylian Mbappe, according to The Mail, with Florinel Coman catching the eye all over Europe.
The 21-year-old FCSB forward might not have lifted the World Cup or Ligue 1 trophies like Paris Saint Germain’s £180 million superstar, but blessed with a remarkable turn of pace and an eye for goal, those fanciful comparisons are not a million miles wide of the mark.
“Coman is valued very weak – two or three million (euros),” Romania legend Gheorghe Hagi told Sport in 2017, having watched the jet-heeled youngster come through his very own academy system.
“When you see others at 18 years old, they costs 80 million. He is the same player (as Mbappe). Only one is French and the other is Romanian.”
A move to the Premier League would certainly give Coman the chance to prove that he deserves to be mentioned in the same breathe as the best young player on the planet right now.
According to The Mail, champions Manchester City are hoping to lure the once-capped international to the Etihad Stadium next year with West Ham also interested. Italian giants Roma cannot be discounted either.
Coman has eight goals and five assists to his name already this season and looks certain to beat his 2018/19 tally of 12 and 10 in all competitions.
The chances are that Coman would be farmed out to one of City’s sister clubs should he choose the champions. Joining West Ham would give him a better stab at securing regular Premier League football, at least initially.
