West Ham hope to sign Christian Benteke.
Christian Benteke scores the first goal for Liverpool
West Ham and Liverpool will hold talks over Christian Benteke’s future this week, The Sun claim.
Benteke is said to be on the radar of Hammers manager Slaven Bilic, who has him in mind as a potential signing.
The striker had a disappointing campaign with Liverpool last season, scoring only nine Premier League goals, but had a far better record at Aston Villa.

He signed for the Reds for £32 million last season and Liverpool are keen to recoup as much of that fee as possible.
Benteke had appeared to be heading to Crystal Palace but West Ham’s interest shows this deal is far from cut and dry.
Liverpool have already offloaded one unwanted striker to West Ham recently, selling Andy Carroll to the Hammers, but when fit the frontman has performed well, it has just been staying healthy which has been the problem; and fortunately Benteke does not have the same worrying injury record.

The Hammers have been unsuccessful so far in their efforts to sign a big name striker this summer, missing out on Michy Batshuayi to Chelsea, and pursuing Benteke now rather than leaving him as a late back-up could be a wise move.
