Kai Wagner has no plans to leave Philadelphia Union in the winter despite interest from Premier League duo West Ham United and Fulham, according to Transfermarkt.
With Union flying high at the top of the Eastern Conference and dreaming of conquering North America for the very first time, you can understand why their eye-catching left-back wants to stay and see a promising season through to it’s conclusion.
The Mail reported this week that West Ham and Fulham have identified former Schalke youngster Wagner as a bargain £3.5 million target.
But the London rivals have little chance of getting their man in January unless, of course, they make an offer Union or Wagner simply cannot refuse.
Transfermarkt reports that the German-born 23-year-old has little interest in a winter switch with relegation threatened Fulham, in particular, failing to tempt Wagner with a move across the Atlantic.
Interestingly, Philadelphia Union coach Jim Curtin admitted to MLS Soccer on Wednesday that there is plenty of interest in his highly-rated full-back, saying that the ‘rumours are real’.
Neither West Ham nor Fulham are short of options on the left-hand side, however.
Aaron Cresswell and Arthur Masuaku have shone under David Moyes this season while Fulham bought USA international Antonee Robinson to battle Joe Bryan for a starting spot at Craven Cottage.
