According to The Mirror, West Ham United and Everton both want to sign Burnley striker Chris Wood this summer, with Aston Villa also in the race.
It’s claimed that Villa are showing the strongest interest in Wood, because Dean Smith thinks he can be the ideal foil for Ollie Watkins.
Everton are waiting to see if their next manager fancies Wood before making a move, whilst West Ham want him after selling Sebastien Haller in January.
Wood’s stunning end to the season attracts Everton and West Ham
Wood finished the season with 12 goals, and he was certainly helped by a stunning end to the campaign.
In the final 10 games of the season, Wood racked up seven goals and three assists, averaging a goal contribution every game.
His hat-trick against Wolverhampton Wanderers was a particular highlight, and he will hope to continue that form next season – no matter where he is playing.

Gary Neville left stunned
Wood was so good during a 2-0 win over Fulham in May that Gary Neville admitted that he had been left surprised.
Neville was quoted as saying that he had finally woken up to how good Wood really is, branding him a ‘big handful’.
Jeff Stelling even told Sky Sports that he thinks Wood is ‘fantastic’ and that Newcastle should try and sign him.
The New Zealand international is physical and hard-working, but when you add goals to that mix, you have a very dangerous striker – and Premier League clubs are taking notice.
