West Ham United are reportedly interested in bringing Yannick Bolasie in from Everton this summer.

According to a report from the Guardian, West Ham are amongst the sides interested in signing Everton winger Yannick Bolasie this summer as the Toffees look to clear a number of players off their books.

Marco Silva is preparing for his first season at Goodison Park and will be hoping that he can rectify some of the mistakes that were made before his arrival, and it appears that he is planning to be ruthless with his squad.

The Guardian reports that a number of Everton players are set to be allowed to leave, and while the report does not definitively confirm that Bolasie is one of those players, they do note that the DR Congo international is attracting plenty of attention with West Ham among those keen on a deal.

Bolasie has endured a fairly miserable time since moving to Everton for £25 million in 2016 – fee reported by BBC Sport. Injury has plagued much of his spell at the club and he has not exactly hit the heights since he returned from his incredibly long spell on the sidelines.

That should certainly leave West Ham wary of a potential move. Bolasie played 16 times following his return from injury, but did not manage to contribute a single assist which is obviously not good enough for a winger who has moved for such a significant fee. And while he does deserve a huge amount of praise for coming back from such a devastating injury, the Hammers are undoubtedly taking a massive gamble if they decide to pursue a move.

Manuel Pellegrini definitely needs to add more attacking depth to his ranks this summer, but it would be little surprise if a number of the Hammers’ supporters were urging the club to put any interest in Bolasie on the back-burner and leave it there unless Everton have no plans to hold out for a substantial fee.
