West Bromwich Albion are interested in signing Troy Deeney from Watford in the summer transfer window, according to Sky Sports.

It has been reported that West Brom – who will play in the Premier League next season after clinching automatic promotion from the Championship – are keen on signing players who have experience in the top-flight of English football and have identified Deeney as a potential transfer target.

Although Watford – who will play in the Championship next season after getting relegated from the Premier League – are not actively looking to sell the 32-year-old, they will hold talks with him and his representatives next week, according to the report.

Experienced striker

Deeney is a very experienced striker who knows the Premier League inside out, and him being a leader both on and off the pitch would make a huge difference to West Brom.

The Baggies will be determined to finish above the Premier League bottom three next season, and the Watford striker would be a smart signing who would help the team, especially in big moments and in big games.

According to WhoScored, Deeney scored 10 goals and provided two assists in the Premier League for Watford last season, while in 2018-19, he scored nine goals and provided five assists in the league.
