Swansea City are also reported to be interested in Holger Badstuber.

West Bromwich Albion are interested in signing Holger Badstuber in the summer transfer window, according to The Sunday People (print edition, page 58, July 2, 2017).

It has been reported that West Brom are tracking Badstuber, who is a free agent at the moment following his release from Bayern Munich

Risky signing?

Badstuber is 28 years of age and can operate as a centre-back or as a left-back. Given his versatility and the fact that he is a free agent, the Germany international would be a smart signing for West Brom.

However, there will be a certain degree of risk involved. The defender has had some serious injuries in recent years.

Although the defender is now fully fit and played for Schalke on loan during the second half of last season, given that he is 28 years old and is injury-prone, the Baggies should be wary.

West Brom are not the only Premier League club who are claimed to be interested in Badstuber, who won the Bundesliga five times and the Champions League in 2013 with Bayern.

According to The Mirror, Welsh outfit Swansea City want to bring the defender to the Liberty Stadium for the 2017-18 campaign.
