West Brom were reportedly interested in signing Sakho in the summer, and may renew their efforts.
West Bromwich Albion are set to renew their efforts to sign out of favour Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho on loan in the January transfer window, according to the Liverpool Echo.
Sakho hasn’t played for the Reds since April and looks set not to play for the Reds again. He failed a drugs test for which he was later cleared and then sent home from the side’s pre-season tour of the United States in July for disciplinary problems.

Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp is said to have told the Frenchman to go out on loan to get some game time but it was advice the Frenchman did not heed, and the only game time he has been getting has been for the under-23’s, but West Brom boss Tony Pulis is said to still be an admirer of the former Paris Saint Germain defender.
The Echo reports that he turned down a move to The Hawthorns in the summer, with Besiktas and Stoke City both interested in his services.

However, given that he is nowhere near the first team – with Joel Matip, Dejan Lovren, Lucas Leiva, Ragnar Klavan and possibly Joe Gomez ahead of him in the pecking order, Sakho may be more inclined to head to the exit.
It will be interesting to see if a loan move leads to something more permanent as it’s evident his future doesn’t lie on Merseyside – and he needs to start getting some regular game time at a high level in order to enhance his chances of returning to the France national side.
