West Bromwich Albion have made Middlesbrough defender Ben Gibson their top defensive target.

According to the Daily Mail, West Bromwich Albion are set to make another bid for Middlesbrough defender Ben Gibson.

West Brom have already seen three offers rejected by Boro for the centre-back.

Tony Pulis’ side’s latest bid was worth over £18 million, and West Brom are planning on increasing their offer even further.

Boro, however, remain resolute as they want to keep hold of Gibson themselves.

Boro are preparing to offer the 24-year-old a new deal, as Garry Monk’s side aim to get promoted straight back to the Premier League.

Boro have been able to keep the bulk of their squad together from last term, and there is hope that Gibson will commit his future.

If Gibson does stay with Monk’s side it will be a major boost to their promotion chances.

Gibson’s performances in the Premier League last term caught the eye, and have seen him grow into one of the most in-demand defenders in the country this summer.
