West Bromwich Albion are said to be keen to sign Peterborough United youngster Andrea Borg.

According to a report in the Peterborough Evening Telegraph, West Bromwich Albion have shown an interest in signing Peterborough United’s Andrea Borg.

Posh have transfer listed Borg this summer, with Steve Evans deeming the youngster to be surplus to requirements.

West Brom showed an interest in snapping up the attacking midfielder, although they are yet to follow up their initial enquiries.

If Borg was to sign for Albion it seems likely that he would be added to their development squad, rather than their first-team initially.

Borg has previously been spoken of highly at Peterborough, and was affectionately dubbed the Maltese Messi by Posh chairman Darragh MacAnthony.

Borg has made four senior appearances for Peterborough to date, but the 18-year-old could move on this summer, as Evans looks to make room for new additions.

Borg is known as an effective dribbler, with a low centre of gravity, and he could be an exciting addition for West Brom, if he goes on to fulfil his potential at the Hawthorns.
