West Bromwich Albion are said to be interested in Newcastle United striker Dwight Gayle.

Gayle would be keen to move to West Brom on a longer-term basis, but the deal looks problematic right now.
Gayle is due to spend this season on loan at West Brom, but Newcastle owner Mike Ashley is keen to rake in a sizeable fee for the forward.
The former Crystal Palace and Peterborough striker is said to be out of the Baggies’ price-range as things stand.

Newcastle would want more than eight figures for Gayle, which is a larger fee than what West Brom can afford, without promotion to the top tier.
Darren Moore’s side are likely to be keen to snap up Gayle at the end of his loan spell, given his impressive form for them, and they are among the leading contenders to be promoted.
Albion currently sit in fifth place in the Championship standings, three points off the automatic promotion spaces.
