West Bromwich Albion are among a number of clubs reportedly interested in George Johnston of Liverpool.

The report has also credited West Brom’s Championship rivals Hull City, Wigan Athletic, Blackburn Rovers and Preston North End with interest in the 20-year-old defender.
It has been reported that the youngster impressed Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp during the Reds’ pre-season friendly mach against Tranmere Rovers on Thursday.
Going out on loan
Johnston has yet to break into the Liverpool first team, and given the quality of players that the Reds have and his inexperience, it is hard to see the Scotland Under-21 international play regularly for the Reds next season.

It would make sense for the young defender to find a club in the Championship and play for them on loan for the 2019-20 campaign, get valuable playing time and then return to Liverpool next summer to challenge for a first-team spot.
