Report: West Bromwich Albion have little funds to spend in January

West Bromwich Albion have recently placed Alan Pardew in charge at the Hawthorns.

According to a report in the Daily Telegraph, Alan Pardew only has a limited amount of funds to spend in the January transfer window at West Bromwich Albion.

West Brom have appointed Pardew to replace Tony Pulis, in the hope that he can turn things around at the Hawthorns.

West Brom have been in dire form in recent weeks, and have not won for 13 matches in all competitions.

Albion are now looking nervously over their shoulders, but Pardew will not be able to spend his way out of trouble.

West Brom will not give Pardew masses of money in the January transfer window and, as a result, Jonny Evans could be sold.

Evans is interesting both Manchester City and Arsenal, with the centre-back valued at around £30 million.

Although Pardew would, ideally, like to keep Evans, he realises that selling the talented defender could allow him to raise funds to invest in other areas of his squad.

And Evans now could be put up for sale, with Pardew keen to upgrade his options at the Hawthorns for the second half of the season.
