West Bromwich Albion signed Hernandez’s former Hull City teammate Jake Livermore earlier in the window.
West Bromwich Albion have enquired about Hull City striker Abel Hernandez, according to the Daily Mail.
The Baggies are seeking an alternative to Watford’s Odion Igahlo, for whom they were reportedly quoted £17 million.
And having already prised one of Hull’s other key players, midfielder Jake Livermore, earlier in the window, manager Tony Pulis has now seemingly tried his luck with Hernandez.
Hull City’s Abel Hernandez scored 22 goals last season
The Uruguayan appears to have hit form under new boss Marco Silva, scoring three goals in his last four matches, having found the net just once under previous incumbent Mike Phelan.
It is unlikely, therefore, that Hull would be willing to sanction the 26-year-old’s sale, especially with Robert Snodgrass expected to follow Livermore out the door in another £10 million deal.
However, with only 18 months left on Hernandez’s contract, Silva may be willing to move him on if a replacement can be found.
West Brom boss Tony Pulis is keen to add to his strike force
West Brom sold striker Saido Berahino to Stoke City earlier this month, leaving a dearth of attacking options for Pulis to consider, besides top scorer Salomon Rondon.
Would Hernandez be a good addition for West Bromwich Albion?
