A report in the Express and Star has suggested that West Brom will still be on the lookout for a new striker even if they manage to complete a deal for Southampton forward Jay Rodriguez.
The Express and Star reports that Rodriguez is in talks with the Baggies about a move to the Hawthorns after a somewhat frustrating spell working under Claude Puel this past season.
However, concluding a deal for the 27-year-old will not see Tony Pulis bring an end to his search for more attacking strength, with the Express and Star suggesting that he wants to add another forward to his ranks.
It is hardly a surprise that significantly bolstering his attacking options is a key priority given the lack of depth within the current squad, and the struggles that their strikers endured during this past season.

Salomon Rondon and Hal Robson-Kanu were the only senior forwards in the squad, with the pair contributing just 11 Premier League goals between them.
And there is no question that, while adding depth across the field will be important given how thin the squad was last term, bolstering their options up front could be crucial to their hopes of replicating and perhaps bettering their performance from the last campaign.
