According to The Telegraph, West Bromwich Albion were hoping to sign winger Victor Moses this summer, but Chelsea have decided to keep him at Stamford Bridge.

The Baggies have endured a frustrating summer in terms of transfers, with winger Matt Phillips the only player to arrive at The Hawthorns so far.

Tony Pulis saw his side lose 2-1 at home to Everton on Saturday afternoon, and it’s clear that he must bring in some more new faces before next week’s transfer deadline.

Now, The Telegraph report that whilst West Brom are hoping to snap up Southampton’s Jay Rodriguez on loan, they had also been hoping to land Chelsea winger Victor Moses as well.

However, despite having little future under former boss Jose Mourinho, new manager Antonio Conte wants to keep Moses at Stamford Bridge, meaning a move to The Hawthorns appears to be off the table.

Moses, 25, has spent the last three seasons out on loan, first at Liverpool, then with Stoke City and last season at West Ham United as he was forced down the pecking order with Chelsea.

The Nigerian international, signed from Wigan back in 2012, hit ten goals in his first season for Chelsea but has become a forgotten man at Stamford Bridge, despite showing flashes of his ability at Stoke and West Ham.

Now though, new boss Conte appears to have decided to keep hold of Moses, with West Brom now back to the drawing board yet again, with Pulis no doubt frustrated in his attempts to bring attacking talent to The Hawthorns.
