Only Mesut Ozil has created more chances than the Queens Park Rangers winger since Harry Redknapp left the west London club.

Tony Pulis wants to bring QPR winger Matt Phillips to West Brom this summer, according to the Daily Mirror.

The 24-year-old was reportedly a transfer target for the Baggies back in January but QPR were unwilling to sell.

Their stance may change if they suffer relegation, however, leaving West Brom to battle it out with Southampton to secure the R’s star, claim the Mirror.

So what could West Brom be getting?

As Opta stats show, the QPR man has been in electric form since Harry Redknapp left the club and Chris Ramsey began to get the best out of him.

In that time, Phillips has registered seven Premier League assists – almost more than double his nearest rivals. He has also created 29 chances, a statistic only bettered by Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil.

There’s no doubt the QPR man is still rough around the edges but his situation is now a far cry from when R’s supporters were highly critical of his poor form at the start of the season.

Interestingly, West Brom’s Chris Brunt is second in the assists/chances created charts for the same period. If Pulis can secure Phillips, he’ll have two of the most in-form crossers in the business.
