According to The Sun, West Brom want Roy Hodgson to replace Sam Allardyce after the Baggies were relegated from the Premier League.
The report states that Crystal Palace will not be extending the 73-year-old’s contract at Selhurst Park, which expires in a matter of weeks.
However, despite his age, Hodgson has no intention of retiring.
The Sun add that Allardyce has the chance to keep managing the Baggies in the Championship if he wants to.
If the 66-year-old chooses to depart the Midlands, Hodgson will be contacted about making a return to the Hawthorns.
The experienced manager became a fan favourite at West Brom, joining the Baggies following a dismal spell at Liverpool.
In 55 games at the Hawthorns, Hodgson oversaw 20 wins and picked up 74 points, averaging 1.35 points per game.
Sadly for the Baggies, England came calling.
However, he departed West Brom on fantastic terms, and would clearly be welcomed back with open arms.
He may be getting on a bit, but there’s no denying that Hodgson has the experience to help West Brom back into the top-flight.
The ex-Fulham boss has overseen a huge 361 Premier League games throughout his career, winning 122 of them.
Given his excellent reputation at the club, re-signing Hodgson could give West Brom just the boost they need after sadly suffering relegation.
