A report in The Sun has suggested that West Brom are among a trio of sides interested in signing Burnley midfielder Scott Arfield this summer.

Arfield was part of the Clarets side that stayed up fairly comfortably in the Premier League this past season, but his own form perhaps left a lot to be desired, with just one goal and no assists coming in the top flight for the Clarets.

Despite his indifferent form, The Sun suggests that he has a list of admirers currently, with West Brom being joined by Fulham and the Cottagers’ Championship rivals for next season, Hull City in the running for his signature.

The Sun adds that while Sean Dyche is reluctant to sell the 28-year-old – especially to a Premier League rival – the fact that Arfield has one year left on his contract at Turf Moor may tempt the Clarets into a deal that could be worth around £2.5 million.

Though Arfield struggled during the most recent campaign, his form during their last promotion-winning season arguably demonstrates why Tony Pulis wants to bring him to the Hawthorns and why Hull and Fulham are both keen on adding him to their respective second tier squads.

The Canada international scored eight and contributed six assists in 2015/16, and can bring a level of versatility that would enable him to play right across the midfield if he did leave for West Brom, Fulham and Hull.
