West Bromwich Albion are reportedly pursuing Bristol City’s Famara Diedhiou.
According to Get French Football News, West Bromwich Albion are interested in signing Bristol City striker Famara Diedhiou this summer.
The Baggies have brought in Slaven Bilic as their new management this summer, and he will be looking for reinforcements ahead of the new season.
West Brom may need to offload some players before mass spending can take place, and with Dwight Gayle back at Newcastle and Jay Rodriguez having a release clause in his contract, a new striker is a must.
It’s now believed that they are keen on Bristol City ace Diedhiou, but Cardiff City and Huddersfield Town are already in talks to sign him.
That leaves West Brom trailing in the race for the Senegalese forward, and with a host of Turkish clubs keen too, the Baggies risk missing out on the 6ft 2in hitman.
Diedhiou, 26, hit 13 goals for the Robins last season, picking up two assists in the process as he led the line as the main striker for Lee Johnson’s side.
Strong and great in the air, Diedhiou is an ideal target man, and having used Andy Carroll in a similar role at West Ham, it’s no great surprise that Bilic is keen on a physical hitman.
Diedhiou may be out of reach for now, and with relegated duo Cardiff and Huddersfield already moving for the striker, West Brom will have to hope that they don’t secure a deal.
