West Bromwich Albion are reportedly looking to beat Middlesbrough to Danny Cowley.

According to the Daily Mail, Middlesbrough are in the race to land Lincoln City boss Danny Cowley – but West Bromwich Albion are further down the line with a move.
Boro sacked boss Tony Pulis last week after failing to reach the Championship playoffs, and they’re now searching for a replacement ahead of a key transfer window.
A number of names have been touted already, and it’s claimed that they like Lincoln boss Cowley, after he guided the Imps to the League Two title.
However, the report notes that West Brom – also in the market for a new permanent manager this summer – are further along with a deal for Cowley right now.
The Baggies sacked Darren Moore in March and have yet to land a permanent replacement, with James Shan placed in interim charge ever since, including for the Championship playoff defeat to Aston Villa.

Cowley, 40, is one of the hottest coaching names in England right now, having won two promotion in three seasons with Lincoln, whilst winning the EFL Trophy last season.
Yet for two teams who loathed Pulis’s style of play, it’s interesting to see Cowley – known for a direct style of play – featuring so highly in the managerial wish lists, though West Brom look more likely to land him than Middlesbrough.
