West Bromwich Albion are reportedly considering a move for Aston Villa’s Mark Bunn as Sam Johnstone’s backup.

The Baggies are looking for backup for Sam Johnstone after landing the former Villa loanee from Manchester United in an initial £6.5m (BBC) deal.

Ben Foster has since left the Hawthorns to join Watford and with Boaz Myhill having also been released, the club need support in the goalkeeper position.
Which is why they have turned to Bunn, who is currently in Portugal at the Villans’ pre-season training camp knowing that he is competing for a starting role for them with Jed Steer and Matija Sarkic.

In fact the 33-year-old is the favourite at the moment with the Birmingham club having financial difficulties and struggling to sign someone new, as Steer is recovering from a long term injury and Sarkic is considered too inexperienced.
Bunn had previously also attracted interest from Stoke City, but they have since turned their attention to Adam Federici whom they signed from Bournemouth on Tuesday (July 3).
