A report in the Daily Mirror has suggested that West Brom are ready to hand Hal Robson-Kanu a new contract at the Hawthorns less than a year after his move to the Baggies.
Robson-Kanu only joined Tony Pulis’ side at the back end of last summer following a stunning European Championship campaign with Wales, signing a two-year deal with the club in the process (via Mirror).
And with that £50,000 a week contract obviously not far off entering its final year, the Mirror reports that West Brom want to discuss fresh terms with the forward, who has made a decent impact with the Premier League side since joining.
Robson-Kanu has made 25 appearances in the top flight since arriving at West Brom, but the reliance on Salomon Rondon has meant that he has started just four games for the side.
Nevertheless, he has proven to be a useful player to bring on during games, scoring twice – his strike against Southampton earlier in the campaign was a stunner, while he scored a crucial goal in the Arsenal victory last month – and contributing two assists for the side.
And his ability to play in a variety of positions should mean that he still has a role to play in the squad next season, even if Pulis manages to bring Watford’s Troy Deeney to the Hawthorns (via Mirror).
