According to Sky Sports, West Brom are targeting a loan deal for Galatasaray striker Mbaye Diagne.

The Baggies have moved onto the Senegal international after failing to agree a loan move for Hoffenheim forward Ishak Belfodil.

Sky Sports say that Diagne – who Galatasaray paid €12.8 million (£11.4 million) for – is potentially available on loan, with an option to buy if West Brom stay up.

It is somewhat surprising that the Turkish giants would be happy to offload him, as the 29-year-old has impressively scored 11 goals in 18 games this season.

Throughout his career, the Dakar-born frontman has netted 94 goals.

So, what type of player is the former Juventus man?

Well, talkSPORT published a detailed scouting report on the striker, in which they describe Diagne as a ‘powerful and imposing’ striker who is a ‘real menace’ inside the box.

If you happen to be a West Brom fan reading that, then we presume it’s exactly what you’d want to hear.

So far this season, the Baggies haven’t been dangerous enough in front of goal.

West Brom have scored the third-fewest goals in the Premier League this season, with just 11 strikes in 17 games.

Hopefully, if Diagne does arrive in the Midlands, he can be the man to get Allardyce’s side firing on all cylinders.
