Report: West Brom target Stefan Johansen in Fenerbahce talks

Stefan Johansen could reportedly snub West Bromwich Albion and instead swap Fulham for Turkey.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, Stefan Johansen is in talks over a move to Fenerbahce, in news that may deal a blow to West Brom’s deadline day plans.

The Mail reports that Darren Moore had been keen to sign the Fulham midfielder, who is now into the final six months of his contract at Craven Cottage and has only started four Premier League games this season.

Johansen was excellent during the Cottagers’ promotion-winning campaign last year, and it appears that Moore wanted the Norwegian to help inspire the Baggies’ own push to make their stay in the Championship as brief as possible.

However, the Daily Mail is now suggesting that West Brom could be about to miss out, with Johansen in talks with Fener and said to be tempted by the chance to move to Turkey.

Johansen scored 19 goals and contributed 17 assists during his two years in the second tier. It is no surprise therefore, that the Baggies were eyeing a potential move for the former Celtic man.

And with their chances of getting a deal done now looking slim – unless, of course, the talks in Turkey come to nothing – West Brom fans may be hoping that Moore has another creative midfielder in mind who could alleviate any potential deadline day disappointment.
